It has been a long wait, but finally the iPhone 2.0 software has been released. My first impression is, "why didn't Apple decide to make the iPhone the perfect phone on round two?"
- Microsoft Exchange - I am REALLY happy with the Microsoft Exchange mail option. I set it up using my WebsiteValet.com Hosted Exchange account and the mail, contacts and calendar all set up and work perfectly.
- Copy-N-Paste - I am REALLY disappointed that there still is no copy-n-paste feature. Shouldn't this be a basic feature of a Smartphone? This is definitely the most frustrating part of the iPhone.
- Flash - Microsoft's Windows Mobile now has Flash built-in, why couldn't Apple do it too? Without Flash built-in there are many websites where you can't see all the content. Flash is a big part of Web development these days.
- Radio Streaming - You can now stream radio on your iPhone, sort of. AOL is distributing it's "AOL Radio" software for free through the AppStore. So, if you want to listen to a CBS Radio owned radio station, you can now listen to it through AOL Radio. The problem is that should you want to read your e-mail while listening to AOL Radio, as soon as you click the Mail software, AOL Radio stops playing. It seems that only the iPod Music function of the iPhone works while you are multi-tasking with other software on the iPhone. You can't read e-mail and listen to AOL Radio.
- No File Storage - You still can't save documents on your iPhone so you can take them with you.
