Configuring the old AT&T Wireless mMode data (Blue SIM Cards)

Configuring the old AT&T Wireless mMode data to work with newer Windows Mobile Smartphones like the AT&T Blackjack 2. These instructions will be very helpful if you are still using an old AT&T Wireless SIM card, also known as a Cingular Blue SIM card.

The instructions below were copied from the AT&T Forums website.

WAP 2.0 settings for mMode

    * Homepage: http://home.mymmode.com/
    * APN: proxy
    * Proxy/Gateway IP Address: 10.250.250.54
    * Proxy/Gateway Port: 8080
    * Username: Leave Blank
    * Password: Leave Blank

mMode Settings

   1. From the "Standby Screen," select Start.

   2. Scroll to and select Settings.

   3. Scroll to and select Connections.

   4. Scroll to and select More.

   5. Select Proxy.

   6. Press Menu.

   7. Select Edit.

   8. Verify the following settings:

          * Connects From: The Internet
          * Connects To: WAP network
          * Proxy: 10.250.250.54:8080
          * Type: HTTP
          * Username: leave blank
          * Password: leave blank

   9. Press Done to finish.

Configure MEdia Net (It may be a good idea to rename this to mMode if you can)

   1. From the "Standby Screen," select Start.

   2. Scroll to and select Settings.

   3. Scroll to and select Connections.

   4. Scroll to and select GPRS.

   5. Select GPRS.

   6. Select MEdia Net (mMode)

   7. Verify the settings:

          * Connects to: The Internet
          * Access Point: proxy
          * User Name: Leave Blank
          * Password: Leave Blank
          * Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
          * Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
          * IP address: leave blank

   8. Press Done to finish setup.

Configure connections

   1. From the "Standby Screen," press Start.

   2. Scroll to and select Internet Explorer.

   3. At the "Internet Explorer" page, press Menu.

   4. Scroll to and select Options.

      NOTE: If the "Internet Explorer" page is not defaulted to "Favorites," you may have to chose Tools>Options.

   5. Scroll to and select Connections.

   6. Verify the following:

          * Automatically detect settings: Checked
          * Select Network: Wap Network
            NOTE: Do not select "Secure WAP Network"

   7. Select Done to finish.

   8. Access mMode or a URL.


MMS Settings (pictures are for reference only)

   1. From the "Standby Screen," select Start.

   2. Select Messaging.

   3. Select SMS/MMS.

   4. Select Menu.

   5. Select MMS Options.

   6. Select MMS Profiles.

   7. Select Menu.

   8. Select Edit.

   9. Verify the following information:

          * Profile Name: AWS MMS
          * MMSC URL: http://mmsc.mymmode.com
          * Proxy: Checkmark
          * Address: 10.250.250.55
          * Port: 8080
          * Bearer: GPRS

  10. Press Menu and select Advanced Settings.

  11. Verify the following information then select Done:

          * APN: proxy
          * Login ID: leave blank
          * Password: leave blank
          * DNS1: 0.0.0.0
          * DNS2: 0.0.0.0

  12. Select Save.
