Follow the steps below to start using your custom Outlook HTML stationery.
- Unzip the stationery files, that you were provided, to your computer desktop. The files will include an HTML (or HTM) file and some image files (usually 1 - 10 images). If you were not sent any image files, it's because the files are already on your website server.
- Open Windows Explorer and move the unzipped HTML and image files to the proper location listed below. The stationery folder location will vary depending on the version of Microsoft Windows you are using.
Vista and Windows 7: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Stationery
Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Stationery
NOTE: The "AppData" and "Application Data" folders may be hidden in Windows Explorer. If you can't see one of those folders, you'll need to make hidden folders viewable. Click the TOOLS menu in Windows Explorer > choose "Folder Options." Select the "View" tab > click "Show hidden, files, folders, and drives" in the Advanced settings section. Click OK.
TIP: To move the files, right-click on each file and choose "Move to folder" from the pop-up menu. You can also simply drag-n-drop the files from your desktop to the proper location in Windows Explorer.
- Once the files are in the proper location on your computer, you can access the stationery in Outlook by choosing the ACTION menu > New Mail Message Using > More Stationery. From the pop-up window, choose the stationery you want to use. In the future, you won't need to choose "More Stationery" because Outlook remembers the stationery you have used in the past. The stationery will be listed in the menu next to the "More Stationery" option.
NOTE: If you have Outlook setup to automatically insert a signature, that signature will show up at the bottom of the stationery. You may want to delete it if it doesn't fit the style of the stationery.
